Fifteen minutes here, fifteen minutes there and the troops are coming along. Straps are kind of sloppy because I haven't cut them in yet.
I need to dig through my selection of brown paints to see if I have anything resembling Isonzo-braun for the helmets.
With any luck, I will finish these the painting this weekend.
Shows the power of fifteen minutes here and there ...
ReplyDeleteIt's not ideal, but certainly beats not getting any work done on them at all.
DeleteComing along very nicely indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteI don't find that cutting in helps all that much with straps, just changes where the wiggles are...
I find the same, but it makes me feel better. While painting this particular batch of figures, I noticed that at wargame distance, most of the imperfections completely disappear, which made me realize if it weren't for close-up photographs, I would take far less time per figure.
DeleteThese are looking very nice! For the record, I spot all my painting errors either when I'm varnishing them, or when I take a photo....... 'how did I miss that?

Thank you, Michael! I really blame the photos. Things can look fine from a wargaming distance, but get up close or post it on the web and every issue is magnified.
DeleteThey look great to me! Armies in Plastic figures are the best and so very affordable!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brad! I do like AiP, although I wish the figures were more Austrian than German (they have certain bits that, had I been paying attention, I should have carved off). Still, for the value to price ratio, they are impossible to beat at this scale.
Delete15 minutes here and there soon adds up. I ‘assembled’ half a dozen flags during a pre-game Zoom chat last night. I’m sure your Austrians will be at least as good as mine - I got away with it so why shouldn’t you?
