A Very Morschauser Friday

After what is generously described as a hiatus, I finally was able to put figures on the table the other night. I opted to replay this scenario from 2 years ago (my how time flies!)

Now, as then, I opted to use Morschauser's Modern rules with roster, rolling one die per stand, not per point (to make things last longer). Mortars aren't covered so I grabbed the 48" range from Neil Thomas OHW - which might not be accurate, but it was good enough.

Perhaps to convince myself that I'm in better shape than I am, I played this one on the living room floor.

The US soundly trounced the Germans in 7 quick turns, so I reset everything for another go, and gave the Germans one more unit of infantry. This resulted in a much better battle which the Germans only barely won in Turn 10.

I hesitate to ascribe any sort of momentum to my gaming but it was a joyful time and I hope to do it again soon.

  1. Good to see you back, I like the way you've done the brickwork on the building and wall in the background. All the best, Brian

  2. Welcome back, John!

One thing that would be helpful, is to use the blog gadget "Blog ARchive" so it is easier for us to catch up with what you are doing. Right now we can only scroll back using "older post" to see what we missed.

I've been doing some 28mm Terminator Genisys gaming, and I think those rules are the perfect balance of fun and tactics for moderns, including WWII. As the basic rules are a free download, you can't lose money; as they were written by Alessio Cavatore, you really can't go wrong!

I've a few posts up at my Up the Blue! blog, if you want to read up on them.

    Happy Thanksgiving! alex

    1. Thank you, Alex! (Sorry, I just saw this - Blogger was no longer automatically alerting me to comments. I *think* I've fixed that).

I've moved the blog archive to the top of the right hand side. Not a lot to new yet, but I have more figures on the the paint table and many recently purchased, so it seems like I might be back at it for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for the link - I'll definitely download the rules and check out your posts on them!
