Company Fire Download Link Updated

I'm not sure on the manufacturer of the Forward Observer. The other two are from Supreme - Italeri knock-offs.
There's not much to see here other than what the subject line says.

I have updated the Company Fire rules and the QRS - the link is over on the top of the right-hand column when viewing the "desktop version", i.e. mobile users, e.g. iphone et al,  won't see it unless they change the view.

Thank you to ECW 40mm Project for the suggestion about allowing half of the non-active side to act rather than all of them. It took care of the problem of a long run of cards for one side without giving a decided advantage to the side without the initiative.

If you give the rules a read through or try them out, please let me know if you have any questions.

  1. The Comrade with the binoculars looks like the officer from the Airfix WW2 Russians set.

    1. Thanks, Tim! I suspected that was the case (of course, I had a 50/50 chance of guessing correctly - he certainly isn't TSSD and isn't one of the Supreme poses, so I figured it had to be Airfix or Marx.)

  2. exit our hero, stage right!
    ;)

I've pondered a lot of ways to balance "reality" and playability. The side with the initiative [which is what the attacker needs to keep] should have an edge on activity. OTOH, Army doctrine states that the defense is stronger. However, it can be outmaneuvered and needs to be ready to react.

In game terms, this should balance out to more decisive movement for the attacker [who is hopefully operating according to some plan] while the defense should have barrel-for-barrel better fires. So perhaps while the defense should only activate half as much if they choose a shooting action they should get a small bonus for "lurking in the bushes in wait" and such.

    1. Thank you for the thought provoking comment! I haven't put any restrictions on the side that draws the card, but you've got me thinking about limiting the defender's ability to move even on their own move card draws(perhaps dependent on the scenario), but giving them a fire bonus such as allowing even their non-mg units opportunity fire more than once per enemy phase and/or allowing their units that opportunity fired the possibility of participating in the reactive fire segment as well.

      Cheers!
